101: Watercolor- tape and liquid masking
There's many ways to mask off when doing watercolor. Today I've used a plain taped off technique and
experimented with rubber cement. The rubber cement worked just fine. I made these two cards for 101: Watercolor. The challenge (or lesson) is about masking again. This time it's Frisket (liquid mask or rubber cement) and masking tape to achieve a nice border. Easy peasy. The hard part of this weeks "lesson" is that you are also asked to LET YOUR WATERCOLORING DRY NATURALLY. When your card is taped down well and allowed to dry like that, you get a wonderfully nearly flat card! It's really worth the wait!
Yellow Card: Distress stains- lemonade, scattered straw and rusted hinge with salt. Chipboard elements from Snap, summer. Tim Holtz watercolor paper and I used washi tape.
Blue Card: Distress stains- broken china, salty sea and peacock with salt. Octopus from a Recollections set and is fussy cut. The sentiment you may recognize from Simon Says Stamp, Happy Mail. I masked the stamp with washi to block off the letters "T and H". So my little creature is "inking of you". Sweet. This card was masked off with rubber cement. Tim Holtz watercolor paper and pop tape.
Hope you've enjoyed my little cards. Feel welcome to pop over to 101: Watercolor and play along.
