CASE Study Challenge #181

CASE Study Card Challenge #181

Trying CASE Study again. This week they unveiled a new MUSE, Joni Nina Andaya. CASE Study does a great job locating talented card artists. They also add guest designers to their weekly challenge as well as having a stunningly talented staff of regular card crafters. I like to check out their individual blogs occasionally to see more of the wonderful creations, and of course to learn new technique and style ideas.

This is the new MUSE card for CASE Study #181

1) This a is a 5.5 by 5.5 card. Both the card and face panel are from DCWV. (all my paper is DCWV)
2) Face Panel, gold with seven score (embossed) lines. I use Martha Stewarts scoring board for this. Then with a nail file I wore off the paper score ridges until the white inner paper appeared.
3) I made the herringbone paper ribbon in Corel x4.
4) I cut the label with Spellbinders Labels Four. But re-created the "stamp" within Corel. The real stamp would be from "Simon Says Stamp". Next time I copy a stamp, I should probably make some differences.
5) Cute quick black paper ribbon, again from DCWV.
6) The polka dot flowers are an OLD purchase from Oriental Traders. The punched flowers were cut out years ago.
7) Hemp string for the loops and four black brads.

I noticed stripes in the inspiration cards, labels, a black ribbon, light amount of flowers, string and a couple other cute embellishments as well....but you can only use so many things on a card before it becomes gaudy. I'm a little unsure about the amount of flowers I used. The polka dots show the most and the paper ones are close in color to the background, if they weren't I wouldn't have used them. Just not too crazy about flowers all over my cards anymore. But I digress.....

It was fun creating this card, I'm so out of practice that it took me all day to make it. And I look forward to making a new card each week now.
