I'm seeing lovely blue mason jars everywhere online. Well, they are cute! I couldn't resist them either- so I I bought a case of 6 at Bear Canyon Ace, in Tucson. While there I also picked up a 12 pack of clear. I smell some future crafting....The 6 pack and the 12 pack were $10.99. Not bad, I've seen the blue for more.
But that box! I love boxes and this case box is going to become a tray...today!
I used 3 colors of paint and had a little fun "flicking" paint splatters. I wanted the box to look like it's been in the garage for a while. I also chalked up edges for that worn look. I've used 2 pieces of 15 inch rusty wire for the handles with about 8 large beads threaded on. I beaded the wire first and poked both ends through the holes at the same time. Pulled in the wire until the beads are tight then pulled the end wire up and wrapped them around, with the long ends I just twisted them around a pencil. (the ends look like a spring)
I had a ball photographing today. The blue is just so pretty!
Thank you so much for dropping by and checking out my mason jar box tray.
Peace & hugs,
Victoria Lavender

They really are so pretty, and you've done some lovely things with them. I'm so happy to see that Ace Hardware is caring these. I've been trying to find them, so thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThat's so creative, Victoria! I would have never thought to make something so pretty out of a cardboard box. I really love the handles, especially, with the coiled springy things. Nicely done. Take care - Dawn @ We Call It Junkin
ReplyDeleteI have to agree about how beautiful the blue jars are and I would have taken dozens of photos! Love the beaded handles on the box/tray. Glorious way to display the flowers for a few days. :-D
ReplyDeleteWhen is a box not just a box? When you turn it into an awesome tray! I have a set of the blue jars and now I'm going to hold onto that box also! Pretty photos!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Linda
Oh you are the clever one! Love that box and the beaded handles! And, of course, the blue jars!
ReplyDeleteI was just noticing a couple of jar boxes I have just sitting in my pantry and wondering what I could put my jars in that would be more decorative. This really gives me some great ideas for using the boxes themselves! I love it; your project turned out so beautifully! Thanks so much for sharing on Inspire Me Wednesday. Featuring you in this week's issue.:)
